Rockers Reggae Rockin'

Ive got a nasty cough from this basement I got lost in collecting these musical ingredients. After watching Rockers again recently, it inspired this new collection of songs that needed quite a lot of dusting down. What a fantastic film Rockers is... I also watched Smile Orange too.. Yes Thar...lol (And if you don't know them, then get to know, Classic movies)

It got me thinking, what with one of my blessed daughter 22nd birthday just days away what I would play at my own birthday party.. The big 40 approaches which im feeling really good about. I haven't had a birthday party since i was 10!... My Dad was the DJ, and all my friends thought he was a professional, he was that good... lol, one of the stories HE likes to recount when we speak of music and parties.
I was thinking I might have one this year. If i do, then this would be the type of music that might have to drop, no...must! Its not till September so i have plenty of time to organise. Even if its just a small gathering of close friends, some nice food and good music. Im definitely marking it in some way. My fantasy is that it might be a little like an old blues affair, and you will find me in a corner swaying to the beat, some gorgeous man approaches and asks me to dance. Sigh....You never know ;) It is valentines month too, so i hope you guys put this to some good use, its almost a perfect hour in length....lol

So come on put on two soft shoes, my rude boys an girls lets get stepping to this. Enjoy.

  1. The cupboard was bare, with no bread for the girls' lunchtime sandwiches, so a walk down to the local Tesco was in order. So I thought I'd take your latest mix along for company. Cold as hell tonight up here.I got some funny looks in the aisles of Tesco. Head bopping like the Churchill dog and struggling not to cut a step or to sing along...taking me back in time to a blues on an early Sunday morning, feeling nicely. Let's just say it was cold as hell, but I had a warm glow inside...reminded me to get the Readybrek!.
Seriously, this is a mix inspired from love...of the music and the "soul", sweet as sugar but twice as nutritious. If this will be the soundtrack to your party, you should sell tickets!
I hope your daughter's party goes well.
Thanks as always for the music and the "glow"
    Respect & regards,

    Eugene

    PS
Any thoughts for a Valentine's Mix?
