My Dear friend Mel Jam asked  me to make her a hot chocolate mix.

Its been snowing heavy in london all week. Temperatures currently are minus 4 and We need a little winter warmer. The picture above might not be your idea of a winter warmer....No its mine!...That my dear friends is about as chocolately as it gets!..and Mel will agree, yes indeed. Just spent an hour looking at plenty of chocolate bodies for this post. Im feeling quite warm now i must say!! Remember what i said about that special chemical in your brain that gets released when you have your favourite beverage. well i think this mix should have the same effect. ill eat my turntables if im wrong!. How do you like your hot chocolate? With a little nutmeg? or vanilla essence? or maybe you like yours straight up dark and rich with a dash of cinnamon? Perhaps you sink marshmellows in or whipped cream? However you take it, make sure its hot and steamy and full of goodness.

Reggae Vybez vol 3

Sunday... The house is peaceful and I have 2 whole days off. So i guess you can say that im feeeeellllllinnnng Nice!. Made this very early this morning. Its been waiting to be conjured up into something yummy all week, but every time i set a little time to compose, duty calls me... A Couple of weeks ago i went to see Tarrus Riley in concert...my gosh he did not disappoint! brought me to tears a couple of times...lol...what a voice!.. David rodigan warmed up for him..Gosh for an older man he still has bundles of energy..But im sorry to say..He cant dance...was very funny seeing him doin his thing on stage, out of time and rhythm to music that ooozes it..Wow!..i think he was dancing to the lyrics, because i couldn't tell what was moving Him!..Bless you Mr Roddi Roddi Roddigan lol. One of the first reggae djs that i listened to regularly...

Cant quite put into words how reggae music makes me feel, but if pushed, i would say that it makes me feel in tune with myself and the world. As Aretha Would sing "you make me feel like a natural woman"!!! Hey..so i wish you all a beautiful day. Reggae Vocal jammin for all Reggae vocal lovers. Staying on a reggae vibes this week as the nights getting a little colder. A little autumn warmer to soothe. Been on a mission this morning, my one day off this week. Looking for a suitable spanner to fix my dining room table legs! They Wobble!...Not a spanner in the house, can you believe that..!!Why is it when you are not looking for something, you see it all the time, but when you want it, its nowhere to be seen!...lol...So after completing all my odd jobs list,  and spending half the morning under the dining room table with pliers, (No spanner, good substitute) I was Free to put some music together. What A Woman!!

Sandra Cross is back with a brand new album one track from her album on here, Alaine, Beres, Stephen Marley, Ras Shilo, Bushman, Luciano, Anthony Q, Kofi, George Nooks, Wayne Wonder singing a conscious track called Rugged Road. Romain Virgo doing a nice cover of John Holts Classics. A few cover versions on this one,sometimes other genres of music sound better in a reggae style.. No Air by lukie D and Lonni, nice version, dare i say better than the original. I might!...Don Campbell doing his version of Stay a little bit longer.. Definitely better than the original. Listen out for them in the beginning..And loads of other big big tunes To tantalise your eardrums. All bases are covered from lovers reggae to some conscious reggae, my favourite combination. A balance between our fantasies and reality..Speaking of which, I can remember when my thighs looked like that gorgeous creature above... ahhhh memories..lol.... Enjoy..xx

Gregory Anthony Isaacs (15 July 1950 – 25 October 2010) The Cool Ruler died this week after a long battle with Lung Cancer. I cannot tell you how sad i am.

"Gregory was well-loved by everyone, his fans and his family, and he worked really hard to make sure he delivered the music they loved and enjoyed," his wife said.

"He will be greatly missed by his family and friends." (BBC News)

Another of my ultimate male reggae artists passes. Ive put together some of my personal favourites Tracks. It was very difficult to choose as i have so many Gregory songs. A Great Loss to the music and a pioneer of Reggae music. Rest In Peace Sir. One of my most favourite voices of reggae and another artist who was the soundtrack to most of my life. Lets us celebrate his musical talent and give thanks for his contribution to the music that we love.

Hey Yo Dj .......Bring that Beat Back!

Been digging about in the loft this week an found some massive tunes from a long way back. Once upon a time in deepest South London, back  then, this young woman would blast certain songs from her front room.... I used to really piss of my neibours, I lived in a tiny flat in a tower block and there was this really grumpy racist woman lived above me, She used to bang on the cieling coz me music was too loud...lol.... Every time she saw me comming in or out the block she'd shout out nasty things to me...I used to laugh, and it only made me play my tunes louder...Oopps.... Some people are very wicked and bitter you know...

So ive selected some for our listening pleasure..Actually im all up and down the time line today 80s 90s 00s. There are some huge new tunes in this one too. But wait till you hear what i sneak in..I garentee your going to be shouting out Yo Dj Pullup!!! This is by definition the pullup selection, as all the tracks deserve a rewind. 

some of the samples are a little quiet as they come from vinyl, and are old and well played, got the popcorn effect all over them. Some are digital re issues..but the essence is Smokey hot hot hot!!!.. Im not one of those collecters who get all precious over their tunes...They are to be played, used, enjoyed...not kept in cling film and hung on the wall.. I think thats such a waste.

Your going to love the new tracks ive dropped in the begining there is just something about them that reminds me of the old stuff i used to play.. they have an ole skool flavour about them. 

one particular artist im loving is Key her track is called Who me. Dropping another track by Eclectic Soul entitled Rising,  BIG! large massive tune by Dorian Wright called say i do....ohhh nice postive vibration.. Then one or two surprises... Remember Rick Clark....Delux....Adeva....Jill Francis....Oh My Gosh Very Very Large Portion of Fish an chips!!!!... UK artists, Cuppa Tea, Pie n mash!!! UK!!!! styleeeeee, got to represent as they say...lol..(My daughter would crindge if she heard me say that)....lol

gyptian special edition...

Last Friday i had the privilege to attend an interview with one of my favourite current reggae artists.. Gyptian. Currently touring Europe and after the huge success of hold yu, hes fast becoming the one to watch breaking the main stream charts. I think hes the first reggae artist to do so since Wayne wonder with no letting go.. its a very big deal!.. Reggae as a genre of music has so much talented artists and should not be locked out of the main stream music industry.... why is not more on MTV!!!!

As you can imagine i was extremely excited to have a chance to meet him.

With no time to prepare, and already very late, we were shown into a very hot studio and as you will see, i missed the very beginning of the interview... camera woman...lol.. Mr Flava being the true pro he is dived straight in....... A truly nice guy and a very talented young man... i was only sorry i didn't get his autograph, as there was a long line of other media types queuing at the door to get in.. But i did get to shake his hand... A wonderful afternoon indeed!!

Make It Funky For Me

Uk Funky House. Not my usual cup of cha, i really like the more soulful stuff, but theres a lot of it being played around my house... its rubbing off on me. What with my very loud teenager. Who loves the stuff. that and Grime, which im not feeling in the slightest. In an attempt to gain some reputation as being a rather yummy mummy who still knows whats going on in music.. Sugar Lincoln Minott Tribute (25th May 1956 - 10th July 2010)

Another Founding Father of Reggae and the Dancehall Sadly left us Yesterday. Sugar Di Boom Boom Lincoln Barrington Minott and one of my ultimate favourite artists.

The original girls dem Sugar, he exploded onto the scene from the foundations of studio one as an apprentice to Coxon Dodd.

So many Great Songs to choose from 4 decades of music, he has such a unique beautiful voice and went on to give many many young performers their first platform on which to stand. and he was still recording, until his passing.

Rest in peace and thank you for providing some of the soundtrack to much of my life...xx

My Daughter tells me its all about attitude!.. ive bought myself a very nice mic...for a webcast....But im scared of it...lol... Been mostly holding it to my mouth and then freeze, now in real life im never short of anything to say. And i think fairly entertaining...(sigh!)

i listen to alot of radio and i have to say a lot of DJs talk a load of rubbish. i listened once to this dj talking about a dog barking, and how it was big an stinking.. after every track he played. Same joke, over and over again, i switched him off. Very few are real entertainers... (My humble opinion) although i have the privilege to know a few Fabulous ones personally...ive been practising my DJ persona....but so far, i remain voiceless....Let my collection do the talking... i dont want to come over like a bad wedding DJ....or a scary bingo caller either...lol.
