Studio One Vol 2

I just realised that this could be my last mix of the decade!.. I had to come again with some more studio one, as the last night of the year approaches I wanted to celebrate it with you in style!

Since having (The hard Drive melt down..Shh We dont talk about that) Ive got music all over the place.. disks, memory sticks, Cds, And of course Vinyl. im still trying to recover and collect everything back into some order...A very Boring lengthy process... But im getting there...slowly. And, I should add, I think I would rather gouge out my eyes with spoons if i ever had to be an administrator..Big props to all the people who do that for a living.... Im a more creative type by nature. An excuse i like to use to describe my own way of organisation.

I made this early this morning, after putting on my lamb curry, (Slow Cooker) i think the smells from the kitched helped.. Im smiling to myself because you should see me sometimes..You might be tempted to call the people in white coats!.. A Legend on top of my own Duvet!...Honestly.. :P

Just Reggae Vibrations (Dreaming of The Sun Mix)

ooh Its been so cold!... Snow, Rain, Sleet, Wind and Sun...but so cold!...So reggae music is on the menu to warm the cockles of your hearts n minds this day.... (That's me in the hammock!)


It feels like ages since i posted up some good reggae music. i can describe this mix like slow cooked food...Gently bubbling. My Mama recently bought me a slow cooker. It has changed my life! Just Vibes...

The season here in London is finally in full swing of Grey...Cold...Damp...and my favourite Rainy..(Not!).. So i find my musical taste tends to change a little bit this time of the year. I actually really dislike the winter time. I would prefer to hibernate till spring, or go live in a warmer climate till at least the beginning of May.. If you consider it, it makes perfect sense as nature itself seems to shut down for the winter time till the spring, when it explodes back into life again...So why not people?...

Its also the time of the year for snuggle blankets, big bowls of homemade soup, thick woolly jumpers, and other nice things like hot coco or milo...Recently found a mint chocolate drink that is soooo yummy, or 'munch' as my youngest says. I have fond memories of going home after school as a child and walking into the warmth, and smells of my mums stews...Now my own children come in Damp and cold to that, I like to see there faces and the noises they make when they take the lid of the cooking pot...
I spoke to my Dad this morning, he was complaining about the cold and the layers of clothes he had on. I told him I was just making some stew like my grandmother used to make..He says...'oh you made my mouth water, im going to ask mum to make some now'...lol...

So this mix really is reflecting my mood and im just vibin with my beats.. so Grab your coco, or even better home made soup, snuggle blanket and vibe on the sofa with me today.. Enjoy!!

Friends of mine!

This is a special post dedicated to one of my oldest and truest friends. We first met on top of a Double Decker bus! Yes, a big red London bus! And we have been Great friends ever since...some 20+ years later little has changed.

I love this man like a brother and when he introduces me as his sister people give us funny looks!..lol.. My partner in Rhythm!..I was fortunate enough to have a little peak through some of his music recently, while we were doing our usual mind meld of musical journeys and made a couple of compilations for our listening pleasure!

Yup, ive been digging about in dusty basements again. Ive found some more buried treasure, for our ears and minds to enjoy. Every single song in this compilation has a real vivid memory attached to it and therefore is special to me. But like most music, we are all able to conjure up fragments of our past to a particular song or era.. I was at this time a cheeky Teen running around London's finest record shops looking for Tunes. My Favorite shop was called Daddy Cool, in Soho, Berwick Street. i don't think its there any more. I was recently in a dusty basement at a local record shop, but struggled to reach the racks at the back..im only 5 3".. im still cheeky but now a grown woman.. But it was so nostalgic, i was in vinyl ecstasy, the smell of the covers as you flick through the racks, frantically searching for something, anything that captures your eyes. lol.. ANORAK!

I pay tribute to one of my favorite British reggae lovers rock stars who died at the weekend..

It is generally regarded that Louisa Mark made the first British lovers rock track called Caught You in A Lie. She only recorded one album but she had many hit singles. All of my favorite songs are in this compilation mix.
I can recall me an my Friend Christine getting ready to Louisa and others on a Saturday night. Attempting to hit her high notes!! While Sipping our Canei wine, Peach was the one, So Sweet.. YUK! lol (Cant recall the spelling) Who remembers Canei wine? OOh We thought we were so classy..LOL...and Failing brilliantly. The original Ghetto Fabulous...Ahh we so were..

So what did you eat for your Sunday dinner?.. What ever you ate today, I hope you were in company of your nearest an dearest. The world seems so busy many people working on Sundays, missing out on family time.. ive also had to do this in the past. I personally think sundays should be family time, or down time..its a crazy world and sometimes its just a bit too much for me..i would secretly like to disappear and live up a mountain. Growing up, I remember all the shops being closed on sundays. For me its just nice for us all to sit to the table and have a conversation.

Daughters Mix 2

My 21 year old daughter has been really pestering me for another mix..so, yesterday she raided her mothers music and chose a load of music and so here it is....I hope you like it daughter of mine....

She it seems likes a slow jam or 2.. with a new urban flavor....i have said that im not a big fan of the newer modern urban style music...but sometimes something catches me...and if i really listen to them they are not so different to the music i was listening to as a teen....lol...only the people i liked played real instruments... and used less technology..loool

I used to have 2 decks and a mixer.....now i use my laptop with a programme with 2 decks an a mixer...is it the same or is it different...Well what do you think?...it saves a lot of space..and i can if i want to make music anywhere!....progress.... i still own a deck and an amp, big speakers and various separates...they live in the loft..lol...The deck in the living room now plugs into my laptop...so i can still use my vinyl...

I went to this very posh restaurant once, I had fish... when they brought it out i said "oh.. wheres the rest of it"... they brought out these tiny bowls of vegetables too and I thought...surely thats not for us all to share... but it was. When I got home I was so hungry still I had to cook some food... The meal was delicious and looked as though it should have been preserved, not consumed. it was presented like a work of art.. Really really posh!...

(I have to add i have not been near the place since!)

How do you begin to mark a man and his music with someone like Michael Jackson. I’ve put this mix together in honour of his music. Because for me, that is what I admired about him. What ever you personally think about him.. His music will stand. I pray he is now resting at peace. The music lives! Beg Borrow and steel!

What a couple of days i've had..Losing all my musical ingredients.. So i've begged borrowed and shhh...stole..some music to ease the pain..what an addict to music i am..
Its very strange as i was compiling this new cd.. i say wheres this..and wheres that..its a bit like making dinner in someone elses kitchen..lol.. Reggae Sofa Returns!

Oh Gosh have I got some heavy meditation for you today!.. Real rocking Reggae with a positive message for my conscious minded friends, family.

On sundays I usually always cook, and its usually something that requires reggae music to make it taste extra nice. My grandma told me that you have to put love into your food or it will taste bitter! lol.. Shes right.. so dont ever cook a food when your feeling grumpy or angry you'll just be digesting negativity.... honestly. Garden Mix

With machete in hand, chopping my way to the back of the garden where the lawn mower...Well I say lawn... its not a lawn at all!...lol... was hidden from the last time it was used....Last year!. It wasn’t that bad but i think if i had left it any longer i may have discovered new species or Ray Mears doing bush craft, making baskets and bows and arrows from twigs and leaves. (As you can see from the picture I selected, my garden looks absolutely looks nothing like this.) However, if you squint or close your eyes we can be anywhere we choose.

I decided to make this new mixtape in my garden under the umbrella in the shade on a beautiful sunny afternoon. I hope you like it, it was just how i was feeling so perhaps you can listen to it outside, or in rush hour traffic to soothe you from all the other road users..Enjoy

Daughters Mix

One of my Favourite things to do is drive in the car with my two beautiful Daughters..They have been asking me for ages to make them a mixtape with music they like.. So this one’s for my Daughters. I have to admit i don’t really like urban music, different generation.. but occasionally an artist captures my ears.. I hope they like it... They’re very fussy and particular about the music they like...And They certainly grew up in a home where good music is played!... i recently shouted up the stairs for one of my children to wait for it...”Turn that crap down” i was absolutely shocked! And roared with laughter...oh oh!! am i finally getting old?...Na!.. I suppose its a little like going out with the intension of buying comfy shoes. I look at some of the heels my daughter wears and I wince..ooh killa shoes! but sometimes we cross over and find some middle ground.. I love my girls!! Even when they’re doing my head in!.. Mummy! My daughter says; “Your still a fly Yummy mummy”..Lol. Recently, the sun finally decided to shine so we were in the car music loud and all singing badly. It was great..

Yesterday, I’m in the car, and i was feeling all spring like, the sun was out and i pulled up at the traffic lights, i look over to my right, realising that my music was very loud, these two young Guys grinning at me.. One says.. Nice music!.. i smiled, and said politely “thank you”..it was one of my mixtapes, a bit of me wanted to say.. “that’s me you know”...but i didn’t.. i just pulled away and turned it up.. lol.. much love xx
