Reggae got Soul

You of course knew that. Its got lorry loads of soul. I was in need of some good cooking music today. So i made this for my weekend kitchen duty. I Fancy something yummy to eat, and since the one thing i need is some good music for the kitchen.

So i might urge you all this coming weekend to make something wholesome and tasty to eat. Even better if your cooking for others. Here is my contribution to your recipe. Get your chef hats on, and don't forget to wash your hands. Cant cook in a dirty kitchen or with dirty hands..

If you have not discovered by now food and music go so well together, both sensual pleasures i cannot live without. We are taught that pleasure is something we ought to curb, most of them are illegal or Taboo, some of the nicer ones are. I do not subscribe to this teaching and think everyone should have a little of what you fancy. As Long as your not hurting anybody, i dont see the harm. The difficulty is not to over indulge. lol. Its not so bad if your addiction is to good music though. That's why you come and sit with me on my sofa. Virtually speaking, ;)

Inspired Soul pt 2

There may be a danger that i might have over done my latest interest of period dramas. Set mostly in victorian England. The most recent being Larkrise to Candleford. Set in Rural England at a time of great hardships and buttoned upness. I love them. The inner conflicts between what is morally correct, and the inner turmoils of desire and wishes.

Thank goodness i was not around at that time, i may have been in the work house long before now. An un married mother of two trying to make ends meet. The scandal!

I am an old fashioned kind of woman at heart despite my modern mind, fiercely fought independence, and views on equality.

So with that in mind i made this. Enjoy. Its very far removed from chamber music but there is a real romantic flavor to it none the less.

An Inspired Soul

My Alarm went off too early! I experience one day that felt like spring, and immediately, I sprung into action 10 days ago gutting the living room off all its contents. Cleaning everything within an inch of its life and putting it back all different. It Looks lovely. A couple of new cushions and it looks like a brand new room. It is from this 'new' room that i make music for us this night. The energy has completely changed. You will see that its for the better as i do.

This weekend what do i see, sleet rain Grey cold and more cold. So im back with the Horlicks and snuggle blankets being a little grumpy...LOL Like a bear who was woke up too soon From her cave. Grr
Ive been gathering bits and pieces and sticking them in a folder for my next compilation. Its a little eclectic, what with my mood. I feel like a child on a Sunday looking out the window wanting to be outside but mama says its too cold to go out!... SOON!..You will notice that i snuck in an usher tune, listen out for it, his take of Barry Whites secret garden...Its got some other djs tag all over it.. but what can i say other than its a CHOONE... and i just had to play it same way...My daughter would tell me im ghetto... lol... *Blows Raspberry* Fabulous!!!!

Its that Time of Year Again. Amore....Love Love is everywhere. If only that were true.. Imagine if the planet could really get on board, a paradise we would live in.. So Thanks to Eugene and my good self. Im going to do my bit. Cupids Hunt is a Global podcast that is taking place this valentines day. Spread the Luuurrve people.....

So Get your candles out and your massage oils, Something nice to drink or *coughs* something a little greener. Put My cd in and let nature do the rest!! Of Course you don't really need all that stuff, just 2 kindred spirits who want to spend time together is usually all it really takes. I used to giggle at some of my male customers coming into the barber shop with frantic faces and arms full of teddies, balloons, chocolates, flowers, huge oversized cards... Id say "what are you doing?" Some men not all, but some men just dont get it do they... lol..

I personally think that romance should be incorporated into every day life.. A kind word, a cuddle, laughter, listening understanding. Just really showing that you care. It costs nothing but goes a long way to keep the flame flickering when things get tough.
A couple of years ago, My daughter got this massive basket of silk looking flowers with this very sinister looking teddy bear perched in the centre of it.. It was really really disgusting, eventually I asked her to get rid of it because it terrified us all.. (The boyfriend went shortly after)
Chuckie meets the care bears (remarkably Similar to the Boyfriend) in a garden of plastic plants!!! Honestly..lol The funniest and sadest part to this tale of love is that he carried it on a bus in a black Bin bag.... Sigh.. The things we do for Love!!

Rockers Reggae Rockin'

Ive got a nasty cough from this basement I got lost in collecting these musical ingredients. After watching Rockers again recently, it inspired this new collection of songs that needed quite a lot of dusting down. What a fantastic film Rockers is... I also watched Smile Orange too.. Yes Thar...lol (And if you don't know them, then get to know, Classic movies)

It got me thinking, what with one of my blessed daughter 22nd birthday just days away what I would play at my own birthday party.. The big 40 approaches which im feeling really good about. I haven't had a birthday party since i was 10!... My Dad was the DJ, and all my friends thought he was a professional, he was that good... lol, one of the stories HE likes to recount when we speak of music and parties.
I was thinking I might have one this year. If i do, then this would be the type of music that might have to drop, no...must! Its not till September so i have plenty of time to organise. Even if its just a small gathering of close friends, some nice food and good music. Im definitely marking it in some way. My fantasy is that it might be a little like an old blues affair, and you will find me in a corner swaying to the beat, some gorgeous man approaches and asks me to dance. Sigh....You never know ;) It is valentines month too, so i hope you guys put this to some good use, its almost a perfect hour in length....lol

Daughters mix 3 (Happy Birthday)

Its hard to fathom that in 2 weeks time my eldest child is going to be 22. Where did all that time go? Its a small miracle really, I was a very young teen mum, which i think helped immensely you see i had no fear, something you see in younger people all the time. Big up all young mums who are brave and strong!.. Especially us ladies who do it on our own. Be forever Bold!. Dont let nobody ever tell you, You Can't!....Because its lies.

This is for you especially Big Daughter of mine! But I also want to dedicate it to all young mums who know about sacrifice, and patience, and most importantly have the courage to make it work. Shake your asses ladies....
